Hallo Beautyowls! How are you doing today? One more day left until Valentine’s day, and what better occasion to put a Makeup look together with some of my favorite Charlotte Tilbury products! For this look, I wanted to create a radiant, flawless complexion with a dramatic eye and a Romantik lip. To find out more about my Valentine’s Look for 2018 and discover a step by step tutorial on how to recreate it, just keep on reading!

Prepping the skin

The first and most important step before any makeup application is the correct preparation of the skin. The night before I used an exfoliating mask to even out my skins texture, get rid of any dead cells and allow the deeper penetration of my moisturizer and eye cream. This made my skin feel softer more even and plumper. As a mask, I used the T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial from Drunk Elephant and then went in with my moisturizer from SBT and my eye cream also from SBT.

Before The Makeup Application

Since I wanted to achieve a radiant, healthy-looking base, I chose the Light Wonder foundation (mine is in fair 2). Because I have a mixed complexion and I want to keep my natural oils in the T-Zone under control, I combined it with the Mattifier Primer from Estée Lauder.

Creating the Base

After applying the foundation with a brush, I went in with my concealer to highlight my under eyes and cover any areas that might need some extra attention. I used the Kajen Weis Foundation in porcelain. This is an excellent high coverage organic foundation that can also be used as a concealer. (For more information about this product check out my previous post, Kjaer Weis-The Tom Ford In Organic Foundations!)

Creating Dimension

To bring some dimension back to the face I used my Bronz&Glow Palette in Light-Medium. I set my under eyes area and T-Zone witch some Wowder setting powder from Glossier. With the bronzer, I sculpted the cheekbones, my temples, my jawline and my nose. With the highlighting powder, I just highlighted the highest points of my cheeks. Finally, I used my Cheek To Chic blusher in “Sex on Fire” and I applied it to the apples of my cheeks.

The Eye Look

For the eyes, I used my Luxury Palette in Vintage Vamp palette, and I followed these six steps to create this look.

Step1: With a flat brush, apply the upper left-hand eyeshadow on the entire lower lid.

Step2: With a big crease brush apply the upper-right hand eyeshadow on your crease and finish with small outward strokes.

Step3: With a smaller crease brush apply the bottom right-hand eyeshadow in the outer third of your crease. With the remaining product and a detailed pencil brush apply to your lower lash line.

Step4: Apply with your fingers the bottom-left hand eyeshadow on the middle of your lower lid.

Step5: Take a black eyeshadow (of your choice, and with a liner brush create a soft wing.

Step6: To finish the look use the mascara of your choice or false lashes. For this look, I used the mascara from CHANEL.

The Lips

As a first step, I prepped my lips with the Lip Sugar Scrub from Dior. This lips scrub exfoliates my lips gently and keeps them hydrated. It also works very well under any lipstick and can also be easily combined with any drying matte lip formulas. Finally, I mixed the shades Bond Girl and Sexy Sienna from Charlotte tilbury’s matte revolution lipstick line to create this vibrant pink lip color.

And voilà, this is the finished look! I hope that you enjoyed my Charlotte Tilbury Inspired Valentine’s Look For 2018! Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below. I wish you all a great Valentine’s date with your chosen one and until next time!

xoxo from Zurich,
Kate
