Hello Beautyowls! It’s time! Pantone has finally revealed to us the official color of the year, Ultra Violet! A most unusual, daring and mysterious purple that has already entered the world of Art, Fashion, Interior Desing and Beauty.
Below, I share with you some of my personal favorites, which I hope will help you get some ideas as to how to incorporate this daring Color, that represents spirituality, unconventionality, creativity and forward thinking. Whether this is in your wardrobe, at your homes or your daily makeup routines the Ultra Violet will turn some heads for sure!
PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet is the code and name which Pantone describes as “a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade. This purple communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future“. Given the global situation, it makes even more so sense for the Pantone Color Institute to select this particular color as the representative for 2018. Ultra Violet In Art
Known artists such as Prince and David Bowie were not afraid to use purple in their creative work. It is not by chance that this shade was selected by those two brilliant artists that stand for individuality, freedom of expression and originality and was quickly introduced in the arts.
Ultra Violet In Fashion
Runway shows around the Globe like Gucci, Balenciaga, and Versace have adopted this pulsating purple and created some stunning pieces. The Ultra Violet trend is picking up in momentum, and the most daring fashionistas and trendsetters are already adding it to their gorgeous street style fashion ensembles.
Ultra Violet In Interior Design
In your homes, you can easily integrate this pop of color through the use of decorative items like paintings, vases, and flowers. Even pillowcases, blankets and curtains can be a great way to introduce this trend into your personal space. However, don’t be scared to experiment within the whole spectrum of the purple family to find your preferred shade. Try to use Ultra Violet with complementary colors such as yellows, pinks, and oranges. A great way to get some inspiration is by looking at nature!
Ultra Violet In Beauty
What better way to incorporate this beautiful color than with the creation of stunning eyeshadow looks. Two great palettes to achieve these desired looks are the HUDA Dessert Sands eyeshadow palette (99.50 €) or the Natasha Denona Lila Palette (costs an arm and a leg with its 129$ price tag, I know but so worth it!). For a more affordable drugstore option, you can go for the Colour Riche Eye Pocket Palette in Violet Amour from L’Oreal (8.97$). Have a look also at the Pantone and Butter London collaboration!
This color might not be for everyone, and it’s understandable that at first glance you might be a bit put off even shocked. However, it is precisely that what this color is trying to do. Don’t be faint-hearted, instead be bold, be brave and go, Ultra Violet!
As always Beautyowls, I hope that you’ve found today’s post helpful! Let me know what you think of the appointed Color of this year. Do you like it? Or is it not your cup of tea? Leave your comment below?
