Hello Beautyowls!

It’s been a while I know… but things are pretty busy around here! Juggling between the job, a preschooler, and a toddler can be quite challenging. However, I have some very interesting reviews lined up for you guys so stay tuned!

Since summer is just around the corner, I wanted to dedicate today’s post to the Hoola bronzers from Benefit. A staple bronzer collection that a lot of YouTubers and beauty gurus swear by and one of the top selling product lines from Benefit.

The Brand recently expanded this line and gave the Hoola Matte bronzer, two sisters the Hoola Matte Lite and the Hoola Quickie Contour Stick.

I tested, swatched and tried out all three products in order to give you a good overview. So if you are on the lookout for some bronzers, in order to officially start the summer season…then this post is for you!

The Hoola Matte Bronzer from benefit is a classic. I purchased mine a little over a year ago after seeing raving reviews on YouTube. This is a highly pigmented matte powder bronzer, that I found a bit dark for my skin tone (at least during the winter months). However, now that we are entering the summer, this shade will be excellent for those that tan easily! If you are a light skin tone you will need to have a soft hand with this product. Medium skin tones, I find, are served the best by this shade. The formula is very buttery, buildable, blends very nicely and the wear time is quite decent with a pigmentation that is true to color (the kick off is strong so be careful when applying!!!). Best applied with a brush, this product costs 29$ for 8.0g/0.28oz.

The Hoola Lite Matte Bronzer was released back in February and is, the lighter version of the Hoola Matte Bronzer. I was quite excited about this one, to be honest! This shade is a perfect match for me so if you are fair to a light skin tone and you don’t like to tan then this might be worth a try. This bronzer is also very forgiving. If you happen to be heavy handed with your products, it will be difficult to mess this up… the shade is great as it doesn’t make you orange-looking nor muddy. The formula is similar to the Hoola Matte Bronzer but with this product, I noticed even more product kick off. All in all, this is a great product for the fairest of them all. Also here, a brush would be the best application tool, but due to the fallout, I like to apply it with a more precise contour brush. The product also costs 29$ for 8.0g/0.28oz.

The Hool Quickie Contour Stick is the latest addition to the Hoola Family. This product has me a bit confused! Although it claims to be a contour stick, I would never use this as a product for contouring. The shade is quite warm and it could make one look a bit like an Umpa-Lumpa (which is not a cute look!). So enjoy with caution! This is a great stick for on the go or when on vacation. Quick application with a very interesting formula that transforms from a cream to powder and has an excellent bendability. So, for those of you with the right skin tone, that could use this product… I am jealous! For me, it was far too orange looking. Best applied with the fingers the Hoola Contour (Bronzing) Stick contains 8.5g/0.3oz of product for 28$.

Final thoughts!? These are great bronzers with great formulas for each occasion and skin type. If you are fair and don’t like to tan but would still like to rock a toned down natural bronzed look, I would suggest the Hoola Matte Lite, this is also a great bronzer for beginners. If you are more medium toned, then the original Hoola Matte Bronzer would be perfect for you! Finally the Hoola Quickie Contour Stick, I would only suggest for bronzing not contouring for more medium to dark skin tones. Best application tools, I find, are brushes, like the one from NARS or the one from Sephora. A more affordable tool would be the powder brush from Wet and Wild or even a Beauty Blender. For the Contour stick I would just use my fingers.

As always Beatyowls, I hope that you found this post helpful. Let me know, should you have any questions about these products. I would be glad to help! If you have tried any, let me know what your thoughts are? Which one do you like the best?

Till next time

xoxo from Zürich,
